I could not stop looking at these photos---the absence of fear, the determination to survive and the lack of intimidation gripped me hard.

I wonder why we, as Americans, can't find the courage to fight for our right to live, like our national symbol fought for his right to live.

perhaps our new symbol should be changed to a parakeet...or a sheep...or...?
